Christmas sushi

When Mark and I offered to host our Tuesday night care group holiday dinner, we offered several choices of possible menus, and Holly piped up, "Sushi!". So breaking all Christmas traditions, or starting our own new one, we had a very eclectic menu. Between sushi, seaweed salad, Hawaiiian poke, and teri beef/chicken katsu, we also had Paul's homemade cheesecake, and Raffi's mom's tuna dip, and rice dish. It made for some awesome eatings, though perhaps a bit strange. Holly enjoyed the food so much she started to hum, and Peggy found she really enjoyed the poke. It was fun for us to host the party, since this is the first time we've had a dinner party since the whole leak thing has been resolved. We also got to show off our new decor, and our guests were impressed at the changes.

Along with our care group holiday party, the invitation must of also read "Nothing Personal West LA Guild meeting," as my friend from work Nancy came and finally met Paul who she has played with in WOW, but had never met in real life. She had no problems intergrating her lively wit to the crazy conversation, and many great cat stories were to be had.

Along with lively conversation, we finished the night with a white elephant gift exchange, with the highlight of the game being Raffi's contribution of a book on how to buy ponies and horses, and Holly's regift of a automatic bubble blowing machine. A good time was had by all.
