Hawaii Trip with Paul and Peggy

This past weekend we went home to Hawaii with our friends Paul and Peggy. We weren't planning on traveling home this fall, but a good deal on Travelzoo convinced us to book a last minute trip, and Paul and Peggy impulsively decided to join us. It was an eventful vacation, as we played tour guide and got to spend time with my family. On Friday, our first full day in Hawaii, we went on a food tour with Paul and Peggy. It was our first foray into "culinary tourism". We tried many different local treats, such as plate lunches, coc puffs, malasadas, manapua, pork hash, etc. It was also a nice way for our friends to see the city of Honolulu.

Later that day we went to the Paradise Cove Luau, and had some Hawaiian food and entertainment. On Saturday, we went to Dole Plantation, Matsumoto's shave ice in Haleiwa, and toured around the island, ending at the Pali lookout. On Sunday, Mark and I spend a early Thanksgiving celebration with the family, and Paul and Peggy did their own thing, having fun snorkeling at Haunama Bay and doing some bodyboarding. It all flew by so quickly, and on Monday we returned to LA. It was a fun trip.
